Christmas Tree Recycling

Curbside Recycling Collection
City crews collect Christmas trees for recycling. Christmas trees will be collected curbside the week of January 3, 2011. All trees must be placed at the curb by January 3. There is no collection in the alleys.

Crews make one pass through the neighborhood. If you miss the curbside collection of Christmas trees, you may take your tree to the City Compost Site or save it in your back yard until spring curbside brush collection.

All decorations and tree stands must be removed. Also remove any plastic bags from your Christmas tree. Wreaths and roping cannot be placed with Christmas trees. Place these items in with your garbage for disposal.

Christmas Tree Chip Delivery
The Christmas trees are chipped at the curb. These wood chips are available to city residents, free of charge. Residents may call the Department of Public Service at 419-872-8020 to be placed on the list for delivery of wood chips. City crews only deliver full loads which are 8-10 cubic yards. No partial loads are available.
